The beleaguered nation of Angola is still littered with millions of landmines, and tens of thousands of people have been injured by them. Now, the country is hosting a most unusual beauty pageant.

i think it is a positive thing...it helps send several messages, packaged in something we don't necessarily associate with such messages...it is important that more is done to demine angola, completely...and hopefully raise awareness against the use of mines in future wars (we can only pray that there won't be any more wars, but---)...its sad that they can find women from each province that have been affected by the mines...
